The Zhang Laboratory (https://cop-zhang.sites.medinfo.ufl.edu/) at College of Pharmacy, University of Florida is seeking a self-motivated postdoctoral scholar to develop mRNA delivery platform for cellular engineering. The responsibilities include chemical synthesis, formulation (lipid nanoparticles) development, supporting pharmacological/tox studies utilizing in vitro and in vivo model systems.
This position provides NIH-standard salaries, health, and retirement plans. The postdoc will have the opportunity to lead the project, participate in lab management and grant writing. The candidate is also eligible to apply for the Postdoctoral Cancer Research Fellowship supported by UF Cancer Center.
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida ranks No.5 in the U.S. (U.S. News 2020). The Immunoengineering lab led by Dr. Zhang integrates materials science, immunology, and clinically relevant animal disease models to create novel nanotherapeutics for controlled modulation of the immune system for disease treatment.
Ph.D. degree with a strong background and lab experience in organic chemical synthesis, lipid/polymer nanoparticles formulation, nucleic acids, drug delivery, in vitro / in vivo assays.
Preferred Qualifications: Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to communicate efficiently in a multidisciplinary team. The candidate must be able to thrive both in independent research and while working collaboratively with other fellows and graduate students in the lab.
