Research Assistant II – Biological Applications of DNA Nanotechnology

What you'll do :
With supervision from senior lab members, follow existing protocols or help develop new protocols
Manage laboratory equipment and reagents
Manage experimental data
Contribute towards the presentation of data at internal and external meetings
What you'll need :
College background or equivalent work experience in Biology, Immunology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Engineering or related field.
A minimum of one year of directly related work experience. Higher education may count toward years of experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Desirable Skills :
2+ years of research experience, preferably including experience with cell culture, molecular biology protocols (e.g., PCR), biochemistry protocols (e.
g., antibody conjugations, purifications), tissue processing, in situ staining protocols (IF, IHC, FISH), fluorescence microscopy, and / or image analysis
Good laboratory practices, attention to detail
Experience in planning experiments and adjusting protocols, organizing data, and maintenance of lab notebook
Competence in time management and working independently to achieve specific research milestones
Effective communication (oral and written) skills and management of interactions with multiple lab members
Basic computer skills
This is a one year term position with the possibility of renewal.
