Imec’s return on investment is pretty impressive, according to a study published by the Flemish department of Economy, Science & Innovation: every public euro invested in the Leuven-based research institute delivers 8 euros in added value. Over the 2009-2018 time period, Imec created 4.9 billion euros in added value and 2.6 billion euros in tax revenue. Thanks to partnerships with international industry, the institute draws over 350 million euros in foreign capital to Flanders.
