Quantum Machines
Quantum Computing, Quantum Control, Quantum Orchestration Platform
Our mission is to build the Quantum Orchestration Platform (QOP): the platform to realize the full potential of quantum computing technologies at any scale and deliver the most advanced quantum capabilities to quantum system developers.
QMat
quantum science, nanomaterials
The continuing miniaturization and integration of information technologies requires a better understanding and control of the quantum nature of matter that becomes dominant at the (sub) nm scale. By exploiting quantum effects, such as coherence and entanglement, we can create new and innovative devices and materials that will shape the future of technology and positively impact society as a whole. QMat prepares the next generation of quantum scientists and engineers for this task, by putting outstanding MSc and PhD students at the forefront of international research combined with an engaging training programme bridging physics, material science, chemistry and engineering.
EMPA
Material Science, Advanced Materials, Functional Materials
Empa is the interdisciplinary research institute for materials science and technology development of the ETH Domain. Its mission: to develop materials and technologies for a sustainable future.
Empa’s R&D activities link applications-oriented research to the practical implementation of new ideas in the areas of nanostructured, “smart” materials and surfaces, environmental, energy and sustainable building technologies – Cleantech applications – as well as biotechnology and medical technology.
As a result, Empa provides its partners from the industry with customized services and solutions that not only enhance their innovative edge and competitiveness, but also help to improve the quality of life for the public at large. Through an efficient technology transfer Empa is turning research results into marketable innovations.
As an institution of the ETH Domain, Empa is committed to excellence in all its activities.
Centro de Física de Materiales (CFM)
advanced materials, physics, nanomaterials, materials science
CFM is a research centre devoted to promote cutting-edge fundamental research on advanced materials, as well as to create new cohorts of highly skilled scientists who can face the challenges of excellence in research of materials science. The overall aim of CFM is to create a scientific and human environment of high quality devoted to excellence in the area of Material Physics research.
Nanom
nanomaterials, batteries, greentech
Nanom creates nano-enhanced materials that can be integrated into the battery technologies of tomorrow. Nanotechnology can greatly increase the size and surface of battery electrodes by creating more efficient energy storage through material innovation. Structures can also be enhanced or even become the battery itself.
tilibit nanosystems
DNA nanotechnology, nanostructures, material science
tilibit nanosystems GmbH is a startup in the field of DNA nanotechnology. We offer DNA nanotechnology materials and develop novel DNA nanostructure products based on the DNA origami technology. This technology enables building discrete objects with user-defined shapes and mechanical properties on the scale of 10 to 1000 nanometers from the bottom-up.
Centre for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology (C2N)
photonics, nanostrucures, material science, nanoelectronics, nanobiofluidics, instrumentation
The Centre for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology (C2N) is a joint research unit between the CNRS and Université Paris-Saclay. It was founded on the 1stJune 2016 by merging two former laboratories, the Laboratoire de Photonique et de Nanostructures (LPN) and the Institut d’Electronique Fondamentale (IEF). In 2018, the laboratory moved to a new building at the heart of Campus Paris-Saclay, in the south of Paris.
The Board of Directors of the Centre for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology consists of the laboratory director, Giancarlo Faini, four deputy directors : Laurent Vivien, Arnaud Bournel, Pierre-Yves Joubert and Jean-Christophe Harmand, as well as a General-secretary, Cynthia Vallerand.
