The PP222 is a 4-quadrant power potentiostat designed to apply and sink high currents up to ±20 A at a voltage range of up to ±10 V (max. power output 200 W). For medium power applications, the PP222 is used as an extension of the IM7/ZENNIUM series potentiostat. Most electrochemical techniques which can be performed with the main IM7/ZENNIUM potentiostat can also be carried out with the extended power potentiostat PP222 setup. Besides an extension, the PP222 power potentiostat can also be used in standalone mode for standard DC measurements i.e., charging/discharging of batteries. The Zahner's power potentiostats can be incorporated in a Python lab environment and can be used as standalone or in multi-channel configurations. A GitHub repository with examples is available for developing Python applications. - Power extension of IM7/ZENNIUM potentiostat for battery, fuel cells, or electrolyzer stack measurements - Standalone operation - Possible integration in a Python work environment Specifications General - Potentiostatic modes: potentiostatic, galvanostatic, OCP - Cell connection: 2-, 3-, 4-terminal sensing - Ground reference: grounded, floating - Compliance Voltage: ±10 V - Maximum current: ±20 A - Output power: 200 W - Power dissipation: 250 W - Input impedance: 100 MΩ - Equivalent input noise: < 10 µV rms - Memory: 64 GB - Interface: USB, Ethernet (2) - Additional I/Os: 5 (2) - Additional analog outputs: 1 (2) - Additional analog inputs: 4 (2) - Ambient temperature: 10 °C - 30 °C - Temperature sensor interface: Type K (2) - Maximum humidity: 60 % - Dimensions (H x W x D): 160 x 364 x 378 mm 3 - Weight: 10.2 kg (2) Hardware features will be unlocked in future with a free software update Thales XT / Zahner Lab (EPC mode) - Maximum voltage accuracy: ±500 µV ±0.1% of reading - Maximum current accuracy: ±400 µA ±0.2% of reading - ADC resolution: 24 bits - Input voltage resolution: 0.596 µV - Input current resolution: 5.96 nA - DAC resolution: 16 bits - Output voltage resolution: 125 µV - Output current resolution: 12.5 µA - Frequency range: 10 µHz - 200 kHz (Thales XT), 10 µHz - 400 kHz (Zahner Lab) - Impedance range: 1 µΩ - 1 kΩ(1) (1) Impedances below 1 mΩ must be measured galvanostatically SCPI (Standalone mode) - Maximum voltage accuracy: ±500 µV ±0.1% of reading - Maximum current accuracy: ±400 µA ±0.2% of reading - ADC resolution: 24 bits - Input voltage resolution: 0.596 µV - Input current resolution: 5.96 nA - DAC resolution: 18 bits - Output voltage resolution: 38.14 µV - Output current resolution: 3.81 µA Downloads Access the latest manual about PP2X2 or XPOT2 potentiostat.
