Creating Better Coatings Process What is Tablet Coating? Tablet coating is a process where particles tumble in a rotating bed and are coated with a solution. Air is incorporated into the system, which dries the coating onto the particles. The tumbling action facilitates application of an even coating on your particles. AVEKA’s tablet coating system creates a controlled atmosphere inside a perforated rotating drum that is ideal for many materials. The no-drip spray design with needle valves ensures precise atomization control coupled with the patterned air flow which creates a uniform particle coating and increases efficiency. Capabilities and Equipment Specs Tablet Coating Equipment: Industrial and food grade systems - Capacity of pans: 35 L, 55 L, 625 L, 2500 L - Self-contained unit for film coating or drying - Multiple spray nozzles available on removable spray arms - In-process sample capability - Temperature ranges from 4° C to 93 °C - Process used for coating 500µm – 10mm particles Pre- and Post-Processing Capabilities: - Liquid premixing tanks - Screening and classification - Multiple packaging options available Factors to Consider - What is the incoming particle size of the material to be coated? - What is the viscosity of the coating material? - At what temperatures do the materials degrade? - Can the coating be applied at ambient heat or does it require additional heat?
