Multiscale modeling of lightweight ballistic-grade materials enhanced with graphene, carbon nanotubes, and silicon carbides for next-generation body armour. Kevlar Enhancement Multiscale Modeling DFT Our multiscale modeling approach enables the computational design and optimization of next-generation lightweight ballistic materials. Starting from quantum-level DFT calculations and progressing through atomistic, mesoscopic, and macroscopic simulations, we characterize material behaviour at every scale. By modeling the integration of advanced nanomaterials — graphene sheets, carbon nanotubes, silicon carbides, and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene — into traditional Kevlar fibre structures, we identify optimal compositions that maximize ballistic resistance while minimizing weight. This approach allows systematic optimization of flexure strength, tensile strength, and strain characteristics before physical prototyping, dramatically reducing the development cycle for advanced protective equipment.
