Replication is a proven high-volume manufacturing method for nanostructured components Replication is the most used method in the production of next generation optical components from NILT’s advanced optical masters. This class of elements is also referred to as wafer level optics (WLO). Replication is done with UV curable material or thermo plastic material. The advantage of UV curable materials is that they are reflow compatible and thereby most suitable for integration into modules with light sources, sensors, and other electronic components. Furthermore, UV curable materials allow for faster cycle times than thermo plastic materials.
