The Technology Transfer Office (TTO) falls under the Department of Research and Partnerships and consists of the Intellectual Property and Business Development units. BITRI facilitates the commercialisation of its invented technologies through the effective implementation of the BITRI Institutional Intellectual Property Policy and the Innovation Management Framework. Technology Transfer involves the movement of technology from its creator (BITRI) to an end user (members of the public), particularly in the form of products and services. Commercialisation is the process through which a new product or innovation is introduced into the market.
