Acoustics Modeling in COMSOL Multiphysics® Training Course

By COMSOL, Inc.

Intensive introduction to simulating acoustics and vibrations using COMSOL Multiphysics® Training Course Objective The goal of this course is to immerse you in the COMSOL Multiphysics® modeling workflow and help you feel comfortable working with the Acoustics Module. We will use a combination of instructor-led and self-guided hands-on training together with theoretical and practical lectures. By the end of the training course, you will know how to efficiently model acoustics and vibrations with the COMSOL® software. Schedule Day 1 11 a.m.–1 p.m. EDT - Introductory example (guided hands-on) - Overview of acoustics analysis in COMSOL Multiphysics® 2–5 p.m. EDT - Pressure acoustics analysis – modeling with the finite element method - Meshing wave problems - Physics setup (fluid models, sources, and boundary conditions) Day 2 11 a.m.–1 p.m. EDT - Pressure acoustics analysis – modeling with the finite element method - Modeling open boundaries using perfectly matched layers - Solver setting options for large acoustic models - Transient analysis 2 p.m.–5 p.m. EDT - Pressure acoustics analysis – modeling with the discontinuous Galerkin method - Analysis of elastic waves and vibrations - Acoustic–structure interaction Day 3 - Work on exercises (no class) Day 4 11 a.m.–1 p.m. EDT - Thermoviscous acoustics - Aeroacoustics and ultrasound - Geometrical acoustics 2–5 p.m. EDT - Piezoelectric effects - Electroacoustics - Multiscale modeling for complicated acoustics systems Suggested Background This course assumes familiarity with the fundamentals of acoustics. We strongly recommend that those new to COMSOL Multiphysics® take the COMSOL Multiphysics® Intensive Training course prior to attending this class.
