Moorfield Nanotechnology
Graphene, 2D materials, Carbon, Nanotubes, Vacuum Deposition
Moorfield was created to provide services in vacuum technology primarily to the academic research market. While the initial service and retrofit side of the business is still important for ongoing customer communication and feedback, the company has now grown to supply products manufactured in-house. Our vacuum deposition range is aimed at pilot-scale industrial production and high-end educational institutions. System designs involve extensive modularity, leading to flexible solutions ideal for R&D environments where changing technical requirements are common. The range consists of starter platforms that can then be populated with numerous component sets for deposition of metals, inorganics and organics. Systems can be built as standalone units, or can be combined with gloveboxes when air sensitivity is an issue. Recently, Moorfield have directed R&D toward chemical vapour deposition (CVD) systems that allow for easy production of the ‘wonder materials’ graphene and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). These developments have attracted government funding and have been aided by consultation with expert academic researchers. The systems are capable of scalable, cost-efficient synthesis of high-quality material through the implementation of growth schemes deemed critical for future commercialisation of carbon nanomaterials.
Illinois Material Research Laboratory
Material Science,
In 1963, amid life-changing scientific advances, researchers at the University of Illinois were inspired to create the Materials Research Laboratory (MRL). The MRL’s main investors at the Advanced Research Projects Agency and the United States Atomic Energy Commission had great interest in seeing a speedy completion to the building, which would ultimately give professors and students the space and resources to advance their own scientific achievements.
Nano One Materials Corp.
Battery, Nanostructure, Material Science,
Nano One is a technology company with a scalable industrial process for producing low cost high performance energy storage materials for batteries and a wide range of advanced nanostructured composite materials. This novel three-stage process uses equipment common to industry and is being engineered for high volume production and rapid commercialization. Nano One has 6 US and 6 International patents pending. Our management and technology teams consist of individuals seasoned in financing, capital growth, technology management, chemistry, materials science, batteries, process engineering and intellectual property.
LSP Industrial Ceramics Inc
Ceramics, Glass, Concrete,
LSP Industrial Ceramics is a manufacturing and stocking distributor of both technical and industrial ceramics. We carry a vast inventory of tubes, scrapers, bushings, and other products. We also offer custom parts. With access to our unfired materials, we can assure that LSP Industrial has the flexibility to supply you with the part you need. Because we have our own inventory of materials we can also say that you will get your custom parts faster than anywhere else. This is due to bypassing the diamond grinding and hard tooling phase.
London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN)
Research, Nanotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering
The London Centre for Nanotechnology is a UK-based multidisciplinary enterprise operating at the forefront of science and technology. Our purpose is to solve global problems in information processing, healthcare, energy and the environment through the application of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Founded in 2003, the LCN began as a joint venture between University College London and Imperial College London, based at the Bloomsbury and South Kensington sites; from 2018 King's College London joined the collaboration from its base on The Strand. The LCN occupies a purpose-built eight storey facility in Gordon Street, Bloomsbury (opened in 2006) as well as extensive facilities within different departments at South Kensington and The Strand. The Centre’s experimental research is supported by leading edge modelling, visualisation and theory through its access to state-of-the-art clean-room, characterisation, fabrication, manipulation and design laboratories. The Centre has a unique operating model that accesses and focusses the combined skills of all three universities across several key departments; Chemistry, Physics, Materials, Medicine, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical and Biomedical Engineering and Earth Sciences.
