Universal Quantum builds utility-scale quantum computers based on a modular, trapped-ion architecture. It develops the iQPU, an integrated quantum processing unit combining a trapped-ion compute surface with ultra-low noise control and UQConnect chip-to-chip interconnect interfaces, and provides next-generation devices to clients including the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). The company was founded in 2018 and describes a centre of innovative excellence in the UK, along with sites in Germany and the USA.
