qEV Rack

By Izon Science Ltd

The qEV Rack enhances the efficiency and convenience of manual sample collection with qEV columns. The qEV Rack is available in two configurations; one for holding qEVsingle columns, and another for holding qEVoriginal columns. qEV1 columns are also compatible with the qEVoriginal rack, when used with the qEV1 Rack Accessory Pack. Buffer volumes are collected in 15 mL tubes at the bottom of the rack, while purified EV isolates can be collected into 1.5 mL or 0.5 mL tubes. 15 mL buffer hoppers attach to the top of qEVoriginal columns and aid in column rinsing and washing. Product code: QR1 (qEVoriginal) or QR2 (qEVsingle)

qEV Isolation Platform

qEV columns isolate extracellular vesicles by size exclusion chromatography (SEC). As your sample flows through the porous resin, larger particles like EVs pass around the beads and elute first, while proteins detour through the small resin pores and trail behind. Particles stay intact, as separation is achieved gently under gravity, without high centrifugal or shear forces. From EVs and exosomes to LNPs, the qEV platform supports a range of particle sizes and sample volumes. EVs elute early and cleanly ahead of the protein peak, as measured by TRPS and BCA assay. The exclusive Gen 2 resin used in qEV columns has been optimised for superior EV-protein separation and maximal purity. Alongside that, column manufacturing has been refined for greater consistency and quality. That translates to: - Unmatched plasma EV purification - Purified isolates derived from cell culture media, milk, CSF, urine and more - Removal of unbound labels and other impurities, alongside significant lipoprotein removal - cGMP-ready columns available on request Stated sample loading is the recommended volume for highest purity. All columns are reusable up to five times. From 150 µL to 100 mL and well into industrial scale, there's a column for every challenge. Gen 2 qEV columns are built with a novel, high-performance agarose resin which provides a more purified EV-containing sample, compared to the resin previously used in our earlier (now discontinued) Legacy columns. This legacy-style resin is still used by some other providers in the market today, meaning Izon's Gen 2 resin offers a level of purification performance that has moved beyond the industry standard. Izon's off-the-shelf qEV columns are designed and manufactured in Christchurch, New Zealand under a quality system certified to ISO 13485:2016. qEV columns are intended to be used no more than 5 times, with a cleaning step between each use. You can find the cleaning instructions in the respective qEV column’s User Manual.

qEV Gen 2 columns

qEV Gen 2 columns, built using Izon-exclusive SEC resin, deliver significantly higher EV purity than columns using standard market resins (CL-4B and CL-2B) — resins Izon's own Legacy columns also once relied on. qEV Gen 2 columns gently remove ~99% of soluble protein from human plasma. EV purity is presented as the particle-to-protein ratio, measured using TRPS and BCA assay. CL-4B and CL-2B are SEC resins used broadly across the EV isolation market — including in Izon's own Legacy 35 nm and 70 nm columns, since replaced by qEV Gen 2. When developing the qEV Gen 2 column range, we engineered every aspect of the design for EV isolation, including an exclusive resin optimised specifically for extracellular vesicles. The result is significantly higher EV recovery than comparable SEC columns. qEV Gen 2 columns remove the vast majority of lipoproteins from human plasma — without a separate binding resin step. That means a cleaner isolate, without the recovery trade-off that comes with dual-mode chromatography. We tested that approach years ago and moved away from it: binding resins strip out lipoproteins, but at the cost of losing EVs along with them. Remove ~99% of ApoB with all qEV columns, and achieve 99.99% removal of ApoA1 with the 70 nm series.
