Wire Cutting & Straightening Services

By California Fine Wire Company

Our straightening and cutting capabilities at California Fine Wire Co. include the ability to provide precision products that meet the most stringent industry standards. We produce custom wire products for customers in the medical, aerospace, defense, and electronics industries as well as specialized products used in a wide array of research and development applications. Custom wire can be produced in any number of alloys including resistance wire and precious metals. While spooled wire can be straightened to further refine the tolerances for precision applications, straightening is most often performed in conjunction with a cut-to-length process. Cut wire is available in lengths between 0.125″ and 72″, and in a wide range of production volumes from small samples used in research and development to large scale production. Cut ends may be deburred, chamfered, or finished with a radius as needed, depending on the application. Cut lengths of wire can be packaged into tubing or boxes, depending on what is most convenient for the customer. We can perform a range of material tests, including evaluation of the tensile strength of the wire, and label packages accordingly. Wire is available in diameters between 10 microns and 1.0 mm and with a variety of ceramic, polymer, and PTFE coatings. Our dedication to quality is backed by our ISO 9001 certification and adherence to all applicable DFARS, REACH, and RoHS regulations. The Value of Straightened & Cut Wire Straightened and cut wire makes life easier for manufacturers. It’s simpler to handle, fits smoothly into assemblies, and helps speed up production. Because every piece is cut to exact specifications, waste is reduced and production lines run more efficiently. Our precision wire cut services give you confidence that every length of wire is exactly what you need. Real-World Applications Cut and straightened wire has a role in all kinds of projects, such as: - Medical – Used as guide wires, surgical tools, and other critical components. - Aerospace – Supports connectors, sensors, and delicate probes. - Electronics – Integral to high-frequency components requiring tight tolerances. - Research & Development – Provides prototypes that drive innovation and testing. Customization & Flexibility Every project is different, and wire requirements change from one application to another. That’s why we handle a variety of shapes, including round, ribbon, stranded, and duplex. We can also finish wire ends in different ways, such as chamfered or rounded—to match how the wire will be used. Our wire cutting services give you the freedom to define what you need, and we’ll build from there.
