Our research spans materials physics, materials chemistry, and finding innovative solutions to address real-world problems. With applications in everything from consumer electronics and healthcare to energy and environmental sustainability, CDT is enabling the development of next-generation technologies to improve lives. Founded in 1992 at the University of Cambridge’s Cavendish Laboratory, CDT pioneered Polymer OLED technology for displays and lighting. Now, as Sumitomo Chemical’s only Corporate Research centre outside of Japan, we focus on innovative technologies and advanced materials for a sustainable future. Our expanding research spans multiple scientific fields, and we are committed to bridging the gap between innovative early stage ideas and commercialisation.
