The Company was the brainchild of Mr. S.K. Agarwal - Chairman. He founded SRL along with his brothers, when the government called upon them to manufacture Indian-made biochemicals to replace expensive US & European imports at the time. The first list of offerings consisted of only 200 specialty biochemicals but the drastic difference in costs enabled the cash-crunched Indian research scientist to do much more with their post-doctoral research projects. The company has completed four decades of excellence in manufacturing highly complex and international quality of reagents and biochemicals and offer 8000 different products and about 20000 SKUs of various grades, segments and packing sizes.
