Tantalum niobium carbide (Ta,Nb)C

Tantalum carbides (TaC), niobium carbides (NbC) and their mixed carbides (Ta,Nb)C improve the performance of carbide cutting tools. Tantalum niobium carbides contribute significantly to improving the oxidation resistance, hot hardness, thermal resistance, and wear resistance of tools used in steel processing. Tantalum niobium carbides from H.C. Starck Tungsten Powders are primarily used in concentrations of 2 to 8 percent in the manufacture of hardmetals for steel processing in the ISO P application group. They are also used in concentrations of approximately 0.2 to 2 percent as grain growth inhibitors in hardmetals made of tungsten carbide cobalt (WC-Co). The tantalum carbides, niobium carbides, and tantalum niobium carbides from H.C. Starck Tungsten Powders have an especially narrow grain-size distribution and an extremely low level of impurity. H.C. Starck offers binary mixed carbide powders with ratios between (Ta,Nb)C 90/10 and (Ta,Nb)C 50/50. Tantalum carbide TaC, niobium carbide NbC, and tantalum niobium carbides (Ta,Nb)C are deliverable as TaC, TaNbC 90/10, TaNbC 80/20, TaNbC 75/25, TaNbC 70/30, TaNbC 67/33, TaNbC60/40, TaNbC 50/50, and NbC. HGS varieties TaC, NbC, TaNbC with narrow and homogeneous grain size distribution 0.7 - 1.3 µm. Additive to hardmetals for steel machinery. Grain growth inhibitor in hardmetals. Semi-finished products. Cermets. Roll rings.

Our starck2charge® tungsten chemicals are tailored to the stringent requirements of battery production. Regardless of the individual product, our high standards for product purity and stability ensure safe use in high-performance battery materials while also significantly improving the batteries’ electrochemical performance. For example, modifying electrode material allows for significant increases in cycle stability in lithium-ion batteries. Get to know our products, which were developed for a wide range of dry and wet processing methods. Cathode: Using tungsten chemicals as cathode materials increases cycle stability and reduces undesired side reactions. Anode: As part of a new tungsten-based technology, tungsten oxides play a key role in the improved charge capability of batteries. Depending on the specific battery material and processing method involved, we develop our tungsten products with a focus on customers and specific attention to use in high-performance battery materials.

Tungsten chemicals

Chemical products play a key role in almost all branches of modern industry. Many of them develop their performance capacity due to tungsten chemicals. Tungsten oxide, ammonium metatungstate, tungstic acid, and ammonium paratungstate are starting products for the manufacture of efficient catalysts for exhaust gas cleaning or petroleum product refinement. Pigments are another area of application for tungstate, tungstic acid, and tungsten trioxide. Together we can find the right solution for your chemical applications. Applications: - Precursor for catalysts - Pigments - Intermediate products for the production of tungsten metal powder and tungsten carbides Advantages: - Low level of impurities Manufacture: We produce customised, high-quality tungsten chemicals. To ensure a sustainable and secure supply of raw materials, we rely primarily on the use of secondary materials. Our demanding recycling process extracts ultra-pure tungsten from used products. We offer you tungsten chemicals for a broad range of chemical applications. Discover our product range.
