Low work function - LaB 6(100), 2.6 eV Lifetimes of up to 5000 hours reported* Lower volatility than LaB 6 Truncated crystal geometry on standard mini-Vogel mount (SMVM) Sample Operation Data: Lowest heat setting where beam is stable, vacuum <10-6 torr

Unlike thermionic and thermal field emitters, CFEs operate at room temperature. Field emission occurs when electrons are emitted in response to the application of a strong electric field. To achieve this high field, single-crystal tungsten is etched to a microscopically sharp tip. The APT Advantage in Cold Field Emission: - We grow and process our own single-crystal tungsten in-house. - Our etch processes can be tailored to customers’ requirements and are tightly controlled to guarantee quality and consistency. - We can provide CFEs with any emitter base/suppressor configuration including FEI/Philips, Denka, Hitachi, JEOL, and custom configurations. CFEs are very high brightness sources and as such, excel in applications where high-current densities are required and extremely high-vacuum conditions can be achieved.

Our gallium liquid metal ion sources (Ga+ LMIS) have high-brightness, long-life, reliability, and emission stability, making them the industry standard for use in focused ion beam (FIB) systems. Single-isotope LMIS is manufactured with gallium 69. - Multi-beam friendly - Gallium 69 prevents isotropic separation when using the ion beam in conjunction with magnetic lenses commonly used in today’s high-resolution electron beams - High brightness, long life, reliability, and emission stability for use in focused ion beam (FIB) systems - We can supply both dual and single isotope ion sources
