Auto-Nis®

By Sensor Products Inc.

Sensor Product’s Automated Nip Impression System (Auto-Nis®) brings science to the nip impression measurement process. Auto-Nis® is an optical analysis system that is used in conjunction with Fujifilm Prescale® film as well as standard carbon papers. Regular nip impressions ensure proper roller alignment and crowning, significantly reducing machine downtime and improving yield.

Tactilus® Nip Impression | H-Series

The Tactilus® nip measurement tool captures nip pressure and parallelism information from between any two mating rolls whether the surface is rubber, composite or metal. Tactilus® is a real-time, static (rollers not rotating) sensor system that quickly and effortlessly allows for rapid nip contact pressure and distribution measurement. Even an inexperienced user will quickly gain valuable insight from Tactilus®. In just minutes, Tactilus® can be deployed across your nip interface and capture a wealth of valuable data. The sensor is only one element of the overall Tactilus® system. Our user-friendly Windows® compatible software assimilates the information captured into intuitive, easy to interpret reports and images. The Innovation The exciting advancements in Nano-materials have allowed us to introduce the world’s first nano-polymer based tactile surface sensor. With greater temperature resistance, more accuracy, less drift and better repeatability the user now can perform surface mapping analyses with greater confidence than ever before. What It Does Tactilus® allow the user to capture and record pressure conditions occurring in between any two contacting or impacting surfaces in real time. The paper-thin Tactilus® sensor is actu

Sigma-Nip®

an electronic nip analysis system, calculates and records nip width at multiple points across your rollers face length in real-time with unprecedented speed, accuracy and repeatability. The new Sigma-nip® system is not only more accurate, but can handle higher pressures than ever previously attainable. Sigma-Nip® presents a revolution in quality control. Now, for the first time ever the technician is able to accurately, efficiently and economically measure roller profiles and alignment condition. Sigma-Nip® consists of a series of thin-film resistive ink pressure transducers on a carrier sheet. As this carrier sheet is loaded in between your rollers the Windows based software assimilates the readings into easily interpretable graphical images What people are saying about Sigma-Nip® … “Sigma-Nip® has come a long way from concept to a reliable, easy to use nip profile measuring tool. It has successfully bridged the gap between conventional carbon paper impressions and the first generation of electronic nip devices. Being able to save and review the entire real-time data from nip closing to nip opening is extremely useful, however, the ability to correlate accurate nip width data to roll deflection is an exceptional benefit.” – Mike Stoltz, Metso Paper USA “Sigma-Nip® is an extremely helpful tool for troubleshooting in printing presses and has saved my colleagues and I significant amounts of time. It allows us to assess what is happening where the actual printing takes place and quickly get to the source of the problem. This is a new tool for us and the industry, but I foresee more and more printers starting to use this system as people begin to see its advantages.” – Don Jordan, Abitibi Consolidated

Tactilus® Nano-Polymer Core | C-series Sensor

Our best solution for prototype or low volume custom applications Tactile Surface Pressure Analysis The Innovation Exciting advances in conductive ink printing have enabled us to build customized sensors with extremely low startup and tooling costs and rapid turnaround in just days. The core of the C-series sensor is formulated with the world’s first Nano-polymer based tactile surface sensor. What It Does Tactilus® allow the user to capture and record pressure conditions occurring in between any two contacting or impacting surfaces in real time. The paper-thin Tactilus® sensor is actually placed at the contact interface where it records and assimilates both pressure distribution and pressure magnitude on your Windows® based computer. Common Applications - Packaging: nip impression, heat sealing - Automotive: brake pad, clamping, clutch, fuel cell, gasket/bolted joint, impact study, lamination - Electronics: heat sink, BGA, connector, lamination, LCD bonding, wafer bonding/polishing - Aerospace: composite layup, fuel cell, lamination - Ergonomics: biomechanics, body mapp

Tactilus® Stretch Sensor

Now, for the first time, a truly stretchable tactile sensor! Tactilus® Stretch brings a new level of functionality to the sensor world – a true stretch sensor where the entire sensor element actually stretches to conform to your surface. Two surfaces, especially those that are non-rigid, always create shear micro-impingements on the sensor, substantially reducing the validity and accuracy of data collected. With Tactilus® Stretch, the sensor moves where the two surfaces move, capturing every detail of pressure without sacrifice. Tactilus® Technology: Tactilus® is a matrix based tactile surface sensor. Essentially it is an “electronic skin” that records and interprets pressure distribution and magnitude between any two contacting or mating surfaces and integrates the data collected into a powerful, yet user-friendly, Windows®-based tool kit. Each Tactilus® sensor is carefully assembled to exacting tolerances and individually calibrated and serialized. The architectural philosophy of Tactilus® is modular, allowi
