The 3-dimensional (3D) culture method "FCeM(TM) series" realizes suspension and dispersion culture of adherent cells, and provides a culture environment that reduces stress and damage to cells during culture. FCeM(TM) Advance therein makes non-freeze storage and transport of spheroids and organoids possible

The FCeM® Advance-CR Preparation Kit (containing FP003B polymer) not only makes it possible to achieve the function of cell dispersion and suspension culture without agitation but also provides high efficiency of cell recovering from the 3D cell culture suspension using our proprietary Harvesting Buffer followed by centrifugation. SPHEROIDS / ORGANOIDS CULTURE Conventional gel culture: Hydrogel culture is one of the most widely used methods for spheroids or organoids culture in vitro. In general, gel matrix materials are known as containing growth factors from natural tissues. Due to its natures, the following issues may be problematic. - Formation of hydrogel in culture medium requires temperature control on ice. - After gel culture, spheroids or organoids have to be collected from the hydrogel. - Identification of effective growth factor from gel matrix is generally difficult. - Application of hydrogels for clinical use is restricted because of the existence of animal derived materials. Why Choose FCeM® Advance-CR – 3D Culture - Viscosity of culture medium will not be changed! Perform pipetting mix or dispensing of medium freely. - Unwanted aggregation between cell spheroids or organoids will be prevented! - Temperature control is not necessary! Preparation of FCeM® Advance-CR for clinical use such as transplantation is now ongoing. If you aim at medical application, please contact us beforehand. MSC SPHEROIDS PRESERVATION AT ROOM TEMPERAYURE: Spheroids of mesenchymal stem cells suspended in FP003B-containing medium were stored statically in sealed conical tubes under room temperature and maintained high viability after 10 days. It indicates the possibility to apply FP003B for non-crypreservation of spheroids for long distance transportation and therapy.

Cellhesion®-MS: MSC 3D Culture Material Cellhesion®-MS is specifically developed for the 3D suspension culture of MSC to meet the large scale demand of MSC for medical use. It can be easily scaled up to liters scale or more. The MSC cultured with this material, regardless of their origin, shows great potential for improved therapeutic effect with higher expression level of homing effect related marker (MMP2, CXCR4), higher secretion level of TSG-6, bFGF, VEGF etc. Furthermore in vivo experiment shows Cellhesion®-MS cultured MSC have achieved the same therapeutic effect with as little as one seventh of the cell number of 2D cultured MSC. The FCeM® 3-dimensional culture media allow cells that have been cultured in adherence to surface of cell culture vessel to be cultured in suspension condition. In addition to providing good cell growth, the FCeM® 3D medium provides a more similar condition to biological environment to cells with anchorage-independent growth, such as ES/iPS cells and cancer cells, compared with traditional culture methods. The FCeM® 3D cell culture medium is same viscosity as that of water. The FCeM® 3D medium prevents sedimentation, and uniformly disperses and suspends cell spheroids without agitation.
