Through an innovative NextGen Fellowship program and workshops at selected universities, Citrine helped enable the next generation of STEM students to acquire the materials informatics skills of the future. Founded in 2017 by Citrine Informatics, Citrine’s NextGen Fellowship was a ten-week summer research opportunity for undergraduate science, mathematics, and engineering students interested in learning cutting-edge data science and data management skills. It was run in conjunction with 6 participating universities and has supported 50+ fellows over 3 years. The University of Wisconsin-Madison and Carnegie Mellon University are continuing to offer fellowships.
