Optical Imaging Group

By Korea Basic Science Institute

The KBSI Optical Imaging Group consists of advanced optical instruments that utilize light and lenses to observe and track the structures and properties of biomolecules, materials, and samples with high resolution. To enhance the utilization of optical imaging technologies and respond to analytical demands in various research fields, the group actively develops diverse analytical methods. Tracks labeled and unlabeled molecules in living organisms to evaluate disease mechanisms and therapeutic efficacy Characteristics and Technical Strengths of Equipment - Non-invasive real-time imaging observation - Acquisition of 3D, multi-channel, and time-resolved imaging - Secures diverse spatial resolutions ranging from cellular level to tissues and small animals Application Fields - Used for evaluating disease mechanisms and preclinical efficacy of therapeutics, among other applications
