By Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia
IIT financially sponsors, hosts and supervises hundreds of doctoral students, who are registered in PhD programmes offered by leading Italian and international universities and in some cases developed in full collaboration with IIT. A PhD at IIT is an opportunity to combine fundamental research and innovation, an opening to careers in academia, technology transfer and advanced industry. Typically, the first line of contact for most administrative issues (e.g., progression from one year to another, crediting bursaries on bank accounts, study visas and permits of stay etc.) is their home university. IIT offers further admin assistance and above all scientific supervision and services to improve career perspectives (e.g., transferable skills, internships in IIT offices etc.).
