By TPL, INC
TPL specializes in fabrication of high‐quality thin films for capacitors. Physical deposition or casting of polymer film is performed on ultra‐smooth release substrates in a class 100 clean room. Continuous film fabrication can be achieved to a thickness of 3.0 μm with a narrow distribution. Controlled solvent removal and/or thermal curing is achieved with multiple radiant and convection oven zones. Product film rolls can then be processed using conventional film roll winding and processing. Capacitor Film Coater in Class 100 Clean Room TPL’s unique film production capabilities is being combined with advanced material technology to develop high performance capacitors. Wound film capacitors are currently being developed for high temperature and pulsed power applications. High Temperature Capacitors: TPL has developed a high temperature polyester film, designated as HTPE, and is Maturing its utilization in film capacitors. Capacitors wound from this dielectric have demonstrated stable Performance for power conversion and pulse power at temperature in excess of 200°C. High Energy Density Capacitors: TPL has developed a nanocomposite film and is maturing its utilization in Compact pulse power capacitors. The high dielectric constant of the nanocomposite film offers capabilities for a Factor of three increase in capacitor energy density.
