Space Systems Metrology

By Psi-tran Ltd

The Space Industry has to make critical judgements in a "right first time" environment all the time. The validity of the data it uses to make these decisions is rooted in an assurance that the data is consistent and fit for purpose - as accurate as it needs to be in a particular circumstance - and this depends on understanding the role of uncertainty budgeting and having confidence in the test plan. Having confidence in data validity is essential for ESA and EU customers, and their contractors in specifying and delivering to test plan criteria. It can also provide a key competitive advantage. Psi-tran has extensive contacts and experience in evaluation and design of space measurement systems. We are currently working with ESA and NPL on an approach to specifying best measurement practice in a number of spacecraft test and measurement areas.
