Spectrometer gratings are used in many analytical and sensing applications, and DTL is a common way to produce them. Beyond extremely precise linear gratings, DTL also prints curved and chirped (variable line-space) gratings, combining optical functions such as imaging and focusing with wavelength dispersion.
