Use this application to apply for NCL support of SAR studies, technology advancements, and method development. Please tell us how you heard about the NCL, e.g. website, referral from a colleague, conference. Evaluation Criteria: The application should describe all applicable data on a single proposed study. The primary evaluation criteria for white paper applications are an unaddressed need of the field, advantages over existing approaches, and anticipated impact. You are also asked to provide a summary of your needs and gaps that NCL could potentially fill. Application Deadlines: Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed twice per year. The deadlines for each review cycle are the first business day of March and September. Applications received after these deadlines are retained for review in the next cycle. Generally, decisions are remitted within 45 days of the application deadline. Application Submission: Submit application electronically to ncl@mail.nih.gov. Annotate “White Paper Application” in the subject heading. Sample Submission: If accepted, applicants are expected to submit nanomaterials to NCL for characterization within three (3) months of receiving our sample estimates. Failure to submit materials within this timeframe may result in forfeiture of your acceptance into the program. You would be welcome to reapply at any time.
