Antibody production

By Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC)

CAbS produces antibodies using standard or personalized protocols, with special emphasis on immunogen design to ensure high affinity and selectivity. The immunogen can be provided by the client or synthesized and conjugated at CAbS. All animal procedures comply with ethical regulations (Royal Decree 53/2013). Monoclonal antibody production (in mice or rats): - Preliminary phase: Project consultation and detailed planning. - Immunization, fusion, and hybridoma screening - Cloning and culture: Cloning by limiting dilution and expansion of positive clones. - Cryopreservation and delivery: Cryopreservation of clones and shipment of supernatants to the client. - Characterization: ELISA characterization, isotyping, and mycoplasma analysis. Following cryopreservation, small and medium-scale in vitro antibody production can be carried out. Polyclonal antibody production (in rabbits or other species): - Standard protocol: Monthly immunizations with Freund’s adjuvant for 6 months, adaptable to your specific needs. - Monitoring: Sample collection to determine the titer by ELISA. - Serum collection: Completion of the process by exsanguination under anesthesia, obtaining 50-70 ml of hyperimmune serum per animal.
