CENIMAT
Photonics,Photovoltaics
CENIMAT|i3N (Ref. UIDB/50025/2020-2023) is a national scientific research center sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, through the Foundation for Science and Technology. This center has been evaluated by a panel of international experts in the field of Materials Science and Engineering since 1996, who classified it as EXCELLENT. This grade reflects the high technical and scientific merit of the R&D activity carried out by CENIMAT researchers, translated by the quantity and quality of the scientific publications produced and the high number of scientific and technological projects. This same panel of experts also recognized that CENIMAT could be considered at a National level as “a model of excellence in the field of Materials science and engineering”. Since 2006 CENIMAT has integrated the Laboratório Associado” (i3N - Institute for Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication). It is also associated with the Material Science Department/Departamento de Ciência de Materiais of Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia / Universidade Nova de Lisboa . Concerning the scientific organization, CENIMAT is divided in three Reasearch Teams (ID Teams): Advanced Functional Materials for Micro and Nanotechnologies (AFMMN), Soft and biofunctional materials group (SBMG) and Structural Materials (SM). CENIMAT is managed by a Directive Board composed by the Coordinator, Professor Rodrigo Martins and the Vice-coordinators, Professor João Paulo Borges and Professor Rui Igreja. There is a Scientific Commission (composed by all the Full Members of CENIMAT with PhD) and a Consulting Commission composed of the 3 members of the Directive Board and the 3 heads of the ID Teams.

mkNano
Atomic & Molecular Clusters, Buckyballs, Graphene, Fullerenes & Carbon Nanotubes, Nanocrystals, Nanoparticles & Nanopowders, NanoFillers, NanoAdditives, Nanorods & Nanowires, Magnetic Nanoparticles, Magnetic Nanostructures, Nanolubricant Powders, Nanoparticale Dispersions, Nano Tubes, Quantum Dots
Nanotechnology today is growing very rapidly and has infinite applications in almost everything we do. The medicine we take, food we eat, chemicals we use, car we drive and much much more. MKnano today offers Nanotechnology products in following material formats: Atomic & Molecular Clusters, Buckyballs, Graphene, Fullerenes & Carbon Nanotubes, Nanocrystals, Nanoparticles & Nanopowders, NanoFillers, NanoAdditives, Nanorods & Nanowires, Magnetic Nanoparticles, Magnetic Nanostructures, Nanolubricant Powders, Nanoparticale Dispersions, Nano Tubes, Quantum Dots. When material is made into nanoparticles, its reactivity increases. Smaller the particle size, higher the surface area. Nanoparticles have a very high surface area to volume ratio; due to this a higher percentage of atoms (in nanoparticles) can interact with other matter. This results in to very efficient chemical reaction. We believe Nanotechnology will drive major future improvements in production technology in chemistry, biotechnology, electronics, medicine, material science, alternative energy, lubricants, and agriculture. Our company is located in Mississauga (in Toronto area) in Canada, and we have exported nanotechnology products to more then 35 countries.

C3Nano
Founded in 2010 as a spinout from Professor Zhenan Bao's chemical engineering laboratory at Stanford University, C3Nano is the developer of the solution-based, transparent conductive inks and films as direct replacements for indium tin oxide (ITO). Product designers and manufacturers are looking for viable development paths to meet the ever increasing demand for smarter, flexible touch sensor applications. At the same time, consumer electronics manufacturers are actively searching for a high-quality replacement to indium tin oxide (ITO). Limited indium supplies, high production costs and low sheet resistance, coupled with its inherent fragility and inflexibility make ITO unsuitable for large panel, curved and flexible displays. With the introduction of Activegrid transparent conductive films (TCFs) and inks, C3Nano has succeeded in shattering the ITO performance barrier to achieve industry-leading conductivity and transparency in TCFs and inks. C3Nano's advancements in silver nanowire (AgNW) based technology enable 30 to 50 Ohms per square for a new generation of smart flexible devices with enhanced sensing functions. Activegrid's offers product designers and manufacturers a development path to meet increasing demand for smarter, flexible touch sensor applications for the consumer electronics industry and beyond. C3Nano has raised $37 million in funding to date, which has enabled the company to quickly achieve best in class ink formulations and expanded production capabilities. C3Nano is headquartered in Silicon Valley with an industry leading manufacturing base in Korea.

CINBIO
Nanomaterials and Biomedicine
CINBIO, Center for Research in Nanomaterials and Biomedicine, is a multidisciplinary research center whose main objective is to promote and improve the knowledge of life sciences around two major research areas, nanomaterials and biomedicine. The nanomaterials area focuses mainly on three research priorities: the study and application of optical and catalytic properties, magnetic and thermal properties, as well as transport properties in various nanomaterials and systems. As for the biomedicine area, three research priorities have been identified: biomarkers, advanced therapies and molecular basis. These allow us to identify new biomarkers, explore the molecular basis of diseases and design new therapies and treatments in which nanotechnology can be applied. CINBIO has a wide portfolio of patents in different fields for which we are looking for collaborations and possible licensees. You can check the portfolio of available patents at the center in our website and for more information about CINBIO commercialization process, send an email to: cinbio.techtransfer@uvigo.es In 2016, CINBIO was consolidated as an excellence center from University of Vigo, thanks to its proximity to the needs of society. Nowadays, CINBIO is made up of 15 research groups and nearly 200 people between management and research staff.
