Formvar Carbon
Formvar and Carbon support films consist of a thin layer of Carbon evaporated onto a Formvar film. This offers improved conductive properties in comparison to standard Formvar films.
These are typically thicker support films which may compromise high resolution imaging but will return a stronger and more stable film. The Formvar layer is typically approx.10nm thick with a thin (
Continuous Carbon
Carbon only support films offer a thin, finely structured background support transparent to the electron beam and are particularly good for small nanoparticles and viruses which do not cluster or will not span the holes of a perforated film. Electrically and thermally conductive and provide image and specimen stability for high resolution imaging.
The standard thickness of the Carbon films is approx. 10-20nm.
Different combinations of grid meshes, pack sizes and film thicknesses are available on request.
Graphene
Graphene support films coated onto either a 2000 mesh Copper TEM grid, Lacey Carbon film on 300 mesh Copper or Quantifoil 2μm support films. Graphene offers the thinnest film possible whilst also being more conductive than standard Carbon films provides minimal background noise and clearer images. Ideal for high resolution or nanoparticle imaging.
Multi-Layer option available in 3 thickness groups with a maximum of 8 layers, as requested.
Better than 75% Graphene coverage of TEM grid.
