IMRA America Inc. has presented its Femtolite lasers for use in second harmonic generation (SHG) and third harmonic generation (THG) imaging. In these imaging methods, the incident light converts into short wavelengths.
The company states that Femtolite lasers are highly suitable for studying collagen structures in SHG imaging in semi-clinical setups. It cites the lasers' wavelengths and compact size as the reasons, along with their ease of integration into established systems.

Photon Bridge has raised €10 million to scale production of laser sources for optical interconnects in AI datacenters. The round was co-led by the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund and 360 Capital.

A laser can rotate liquid crystal molecules around silicon nanostructures, temporarily reprogramming a metasurface's optical response without electrodes. The international team showed the light shifts the device's resonance and controls third-harmonic generation, converting infrared light into visible green-yellow light.

Researchers at Huazhong University of Science and Technology have demonstrated a fully tunable on-chip structured light meta-generator that maps multidimensional Poincare spheres. Using inverse-designed multimode meta-waveguides and multichannel coherent phase and amplitude control, the silicon photonic chip multiplexes higher-order waveguide modes and independently synthesizes polarization and spatial wavefronts, steering output to arbitrary points across polarization, OAM, high-order and…
