Palomino Laboratories receives first purchase order from hyperscaler customer

Goleta, 22 October 2026. Palomino Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB: PALX) announced on October 22, 2026 that it has received its first purchase order from a strategic hyperscaler customer. The order includes a statement of work for the delivery of high-performance gallium nitride (GaN) MicroLED chips for optical interconnect applications within AI infrastructure.

The company said the PO marks a commercial milestone in its MicroLED optical interconnect business. Palomino states that MicroLED technology originally designed for the display market is not optimized for optical interconnect applications and must be engineered specifically for high-speed data. Chip performance must be tailored to AI data center link budgets and aligned to customer system requirements.

Under the statement of work, Palomino expects to improve both nanomaterial and MicroLED design to increase output power and fiber coupling efficiency, consistent with its technical roadmap. The company said all other MicroLED technical parameters from its technology platform comply with the customer's target requirements.

Jeffrey B. Shealy, Co-Founder and CEO, said: "This first commercial PO from our hyperscaler customer is a significant corporate milestone for Palomino." He added that the SOW aligns with the company's AI interconnect product roadmap and that Palomino is addressing the manufacturing supply chain required for volume production.

Dr. Steven DenBaars, Co-founder and Director, said: "MicroLEDs are a powerful device platform and optical interconnect architectures impose very different performance constraints relative to those for display applications." He noted the company's IP portfolio includes licence rights to University of California, Santa Barbara patents.

Palomino said the order is consistent with its previously stated objective to secure a development contract from a strategic AI customer in Q4 FY26. The company expects the work to strengthen customer engagement and accelerate progress toward MicroLED-enabled optical interconnect solutions for short-reach AI systems.
