Steel Cylinder Collectors – 3-Piece Kit, for Tubular Nanofibers

By Linari Engineering

Set of three stainless steel cylindrical collectors, particularly suitable for producing tubular nanofiber structures at a range of small diameters. HIGH SPEEDS WITHOUT DANGEROUS VIBRATION Made of high-resistance hollow aluminum: weight and moment of inertia are reduced to the minimum, allowing high rotation speeds without triggering dangerous vibrations. Every collector comes with bare, non-anodized and untreated outer surfaces to reduce electrical resistance and keep the electric field uniform. SPECIFICATIONS (3-PIECE KIT) - Diameters: 0.8 mm (ID 0.51) · 1.8 mm (ID 1.37) · 3 mm (ID 2.4) - Length: 150 mm each COMPATIBILITY Suitable for all our rotary electrospinning systems, including the Easy Drum. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What are small-diameter cylinders used for? They act as mandrels to collect tubular nanofiber constructs — for example vascular graft scaffolds, nerve guidance conduits and other hollow geometries. The fibers deposit around the rotating cylinder and are then slid off. Why a kit of three diameters? Different applications need different inner lumen sizes; having 0.8, 1.8 and 3 mm on hand covers the most common tubular scaffold dimensions without reordering.

Wire Drum Collector – for Thin, Easy-Peel Nanofibers

Wire drum collector designed to produce very thin, easy-to-peel nanofiber mats. MINIMAL CONTACT POINTS FOR EASY FIBER RELEASE The wire construction minimizes the contact points between fibers and drum. With few contact points you can easily peel your nanofiber mats, even at very low thickness where a solid drum would make the delicate fibers stick and tear. Made of high-resistance hollow aluminum, weight and moment of inertia are reduced to the minimum, allowing high rotation speeds without triggering dangerous vibrations — so you also get aligned fibers along the wire direction. SPECIFICATIONS - Outer wire diameter: 80 mm - Grip diameter: 10 mm - Wire length: 120 mm - Wire diameter: 3 mm - Number of wires: 12 COMPATIBILITY Compatible with our Easy Drum rotary system. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS When should I use a wire drum instead of a solid drum? Choose the wire drum when your nanofiber mat is very thin and delicate: the reduced contact area lets you peel it off intact. A solid aluminum drum is better for thicker mats and continuous surfaces. Does the wire drum align the fibers? Yes — at high rotation speed the fibers align along the wires, and the gaps between wires enhance alignment compared with a full surface.

Coaxial electrospinning needles

The two solutions were fed through plastic tubing from separate syringe pumps into a coaxial needle (Linari Engineering, Pisa, Italy) at controlled flow rates - the core-shell configuration that allows one material to be enclosed within another during spinning.

Linari high voltage generator (positive polarity)

A Linari Engineering S.r.l. generator (Valpiana, Italy) supplied direct current with positive polarity on the needle - the standard configuration of our high voltage units, whose control unit is coded HVG-CONT-LCD.
