ApixaShield

By Nanomedx

ApixaShield is a nano-engineered surface coating for pericardium leaflets. It is being developed for application in the operating room without changing current valve designs or implantation procedures. The coating presents an anti-coagulant drug at the leaflet surface, where it may help reduce early, clinically silent clot formation. The aim is to extend leaflet durability without changing how the valve is implanted. Helping bioprosthetic heart valves last longer by protecting their leaflets from the earliest triggers of failure.

NanoHeal

Helping blood vessels heal more naturally after treatment for peripheral artery disease. For people living with PAD, keeping the treated artery open could mean fewer repeat procedures and less interruption to everyday life. Nanomedx is developing NanoHeal for delivery during angioplasty. The aim is to help the treated vessel stay open by delivering an anti-inflammatory biologic at the treatment site, rather than relying on a cytotoxic drug to suppress healing. The system combines: - a proprietary nanoparticle platform developed in NSW that increases local retention of therapy within diseased blood vessels, - a naturally occurring human anti-inflammatory biologic (interleukin-10) designed to promote healing and reduce vessel scarring, and - a specialised balloon catheter that delivers the therapy directly to the treatment site during a standard angioplasty procedure. The treatment is intended to fit into the angioplasty workflow doctors already use. A dedicated balloon catheter delivers the biologic to the vessel wall during the procedure. How NanoHeal is being developed - Delivered during angioplasty - Uses plasma-polymerized nanoparticles to keep therapy at the vessel wall - Carries interleukin-10, a naturally occurring anti-inflammatory protein
