At RISE PFI, we offer biomass processing, extraction and washing using the Filter Reactor FR 10-S. The system is flexible and can be used for the development, optimization and execution of experiments and processes tailored to a wide range of applications. It is well suited for the treatment of feedstocks from agriculture, aquaculture and forest-based value chains. Our expertise can assist with the planning, execution and evaluation of experiments related to chemical, thermochemical and enzymatic pretreatment of various materials, as well as processes such as crystallization, precipitation reactions, protein extraction and peptide synthesis. The combination of reaction and filtration within the same unit enables multiple process steps to be performed in one setup. With a working volume of 10 liters, temperature control ranging from -60 to +200 °C, and operation at pressures from vacuum to 1 bar overpressure (-1 to +1 bar), the system offers flexibility for a wide range of biomass-based processes. The reactor is equipped with a glass vessel featuring a heating and cooling jacket, a multi-stage agitator, and a replaceable PTFE filter cloth available in different mesh sizes. Materials such as borosilicate glass, PTFE and PFA provide high chemical resistance, making the system suitable for processing a broad range of feedstocks and operating conditions. Through RISE PFI’s multidisciplinary expertise, customers gain access to knowledge in biomass processing, extraction, pretreatment, process development and scale-up. This makes the Filter Reactor FR 10-S a flexible platform for testing, method development and optimization of bio-based processes.
