End caps and mounting bases are available for piezoelectric tube scanners to simplify mounting and load connection. An assembly and wiring service is also available. Please use the tube scanner builder to view the available options, and order online or download a quote. Alternatively, you can contact PiezoDrive with an order-code or screenshot of the builder configuration. The tube scanner builder can also be used to add soldered wires to the tube electrodes. The standard wiring is 30AWG single-conductor copper wire with PVDF (Kynar) insulation and 0.5mm outside diameter, rated for 300V. The epoxy adhesive and wire insulation in the standard assembly is suitable for operation between -45C and +80C. The volatile organic content of the adhesive is approximately 3%, which will result in some outgassing in high vacuum. For applications that require cryogenic temperatures and/or high vacuum, the -Cryo4KVacuum option is available that utilizes low-temperature low-outgassing epoxy adhesive and PTFE insulated wire, which is suitable for vacuum pressure down to mbar. Lower pressure is possible; however, PTFE is know to outgas below mbar. This option has been tested at 4K but is expected to permit operation in the mK range.
