Advanced DLC Coating for Ultra-Hard, Low-Friction Wear Protection Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coatings are advanced carbon-based thin films used to reduce friction, improve wear resistance and extend the service life of tools and precision components. TAC-ON® is NTI Nanofilm's advanced hydrogen-free ta-C DLC coating, deposited using our proprietary Filtered Cathodic Vacuum Arc (FCVA) technology. Its high diamond-like sp³ carbon content enables exceptional hardness, low friction, smooth surfaces and strong wear resistance compared with conventional DLC coatings. Designed for demanding industrial applications, TAC-ON® DLC coatings can be applied to tools, molds and precision components across semiconductor, automotive, optics, electronics, textile, printing and other industries. TAC-ON® Outperforms Normal DLC - Diamond Content (%): TAC-ON® ~ 85 / Normal DLC ~ 25 - Hardness (GPa): TAC-ON® ~ 40 / Normal DLC ~ 15 - Wearing Rate (mm³/Nm): TAC-ON® < 10-8 / Normal DLC ~ 8 x 10-8 - Friction Coefficient: TAC-ON® ~ 0.1 / Normal DLC ~ 0.14 - Typical Thickness (nm): TAC-ON® ~ 1,200 / Normal DLC ~ 2,000 - Coating Technology: TAC-ON® FCVA / Normal DLC Normal PVD Ultra-Smooth Coating Surface with No Polishing Required TAC-ON® coating demonstrates exceptional abrasion resistance, showing no surface scratches even after 120 test cycles, while conventional coatings display visible wear after just 60 cycles. TAC-ON® No scratch after 120 cycles / Normal DLC Obvious scratches after 60 cycles *Based on internal test. Results subject to changes from different materials under different operating environment.
