Technology Commercialisation (TC) is a key unit under the Innovation & Ventures (IV) Division of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, mandated to drive the translation of research and innovation into tangible industry and societal impact. TC serves as the bridge between academia and industry, enabling the translation of research outputs into market-ready solutions. In general, we are flexible in developing a practical go-to-market strategy for each invention. The approach is tailored based on the nature of the technology, market readiness, and the inventor’s goals. At present, there are two (2)main pathways to monetise our intellectual property and technologies: - Existing businesses: Commercialisation through our corporate partners or via direct exploitation by the university or inventors, where appropriate. - Start-ups: Commercialisation through the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Innovation Accelerator (UToPIA)Programme, which supports the creation and growth of start-ups based on university-developed technologies. Based on these approaches, we offer a wide range of home-grown technologies that you can license, further develop, or commercialise with industry partners or through start-ups.
