Quantum Training Lab (QTL) is the Niels Bohr Institute’s new teaching laboratory specializing in quantum technology. QTL has been established to secure the next generation of experts for Denmark’s strong quantum ecosystem. QTL provides university students, high school students, and professionals with access to unique laboratory facilities that are otherwise reserved for top-tier international research. QTL enables a close integration of research into teaching activities at the Niels Bohr Institute and fosters collaboration with industry partners on training of professionals. Quantum Training Lab consists of two laboratories located in separate buildings: - QTL Photonic Lab at the Niels Bohr Institute on Blegdamsvej: The QTL Photonic Lab allows students and visitors to use optical experiments to do hands-on investigations of such concepts as single-photon sources and the interaction between light and atoms. These experiments are particularly relevant for quantum communication and quantum sensing. - QTL Cryostat Lab in the Niels Bohr Building on Jagtvej: The QTL Cryostat Lab allows students and visitors to work with cryogenic cooling of quantum hardware down to nearly absolute zero (-273 °C). This extreme cooling enables the measurement and control of qubits, which is essential for the quantum computers of the future.
