Innolume has introduced the BOA1310070YY850MXXXX, a new O-band booster optical amplifier that delivers 850 mW CW output power ex-fiber at 1310 nm. The device combines a 70 nm 3-dB gain bandwidth with a compact 14-pin butterfly package.
At 25 C, the amplifier reaches 850 mW output power with a 100 mW (20 dBm) input signal at 1310 nm and a drive current of 3 A. The stated performance requires 100 mW delivered to the amplifier input.
The BOA can be seeded with a 1310 nm model from Innolume's DFB13XX000YY100MFVXX laser series, which features an integrated double-stage optical isolator.
The amplifier module includes an integrated thermoelectric cooler (TEC). It is available with PM1310 or HI1060 fiber and an optional 900 m loose tube.
Innolume states that additional high-power quantum-dot amplifier models are coming soon. Detailed specifications are available in the product datasheet, and the company directs enquiries to its sales team at info@innolume.com.

Researchers at Tohoku University and NIMS have overcome a long-standing barrier to fast charge detection in high-resistance 2D-material quantum devices. By integrating a strontium titanate variable capacitor into a high-frequency resonant circuit, the team achieved near-perfect impedance matching, clearly resolving Coulomb oscillations from individual electrons and remaining stable under the perpendicular magnetic fields needed for spin-valley qubits.
PsiQuantum unveiled an 8×8-radix optical circuit switch demonstration vehicle built on its silicon photonics platform. Lab tests showed 1.2 dB insertion loss, 40 dB cross talk and under 3 ms reconfiguration time.
Palomino Laboratories has received its first purchase order from a strategic hyperscaler customer, including a statement of work for GaN MicroLED chips for optical interconnects in AI infrastructure.
