Nanomate by Phi4tech has certified its new product, reduced graphene oxide (rGO+), at the Instituto del Carbono del CSIC. The certification covers the product's properties, the company said.
The company states that rGO+ has a carbon purity of 98% and high conductivity. The product was developed entirely in Spain through an R&D process with an energy and environmental sustainability focus, according to the release.
"Recientemente, hemos certificado nuestro nuevo producto, el Óxido de Grafeno Reducido (rGO+), en el prestigioso Instituto del Carbono del CSIC," said Manuel Monasterio, R&D Researcher.
The release describes reduced graphene oxide as a material obtained from graphite through controlled oxidation with oxidising agents such as nitric acid and sulphuric acid, followed by partial reduction of oxygenated functional groups. The company says the material is close in behaviour to monolayer graphene.
According to the release, rGO shows electrical and thermal conductivity, flexibility, mechanical strength and transparency across a wide range of wavelengths. The company says these properties support use in electronics, energy, materials engineering and biotechnology.

Nanomate has launched Silixguard and Silvergraph, two bactericidal nanomaterials that combine reduced graphene oxide (rGO) with silver nanoparticles (Ag), the company said.

Nanomate by Phi4tech has announced carbon nanomaterials for polymer composites, including carbon nanofibers, reduced graphene oxide, and graphene oxide with metal nanoparticles. The company says these improve mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties.

Nanomate has developed carbon nanomaterials for large-scale manufacturing that improve the mechanical properties of plastics by up to 30%, according to the company. The nanomaterials also provide electrical, thermal and bactericidal improvements.
