Dortmund, 5 November 2026. Innolume has introduced the BOA1260050YY950MXXXX, a commercially available watt-class booster optical amplifier delivering 950 mW CW fiber-coupled output power at 1260 nm.
The amplifier combines a 50 nm 3-dB gain bandwidth with a compact 14-pin butterfly package and an integrated thermoelectric cooler (TEC). It is built on Innolume's GaAs quantum-dot platform and is designed to support reliable high-power operation.
The BOA can be combined with Innolume DFB lasers in the 1260 nm wavelength range, pairing a semiconductor seed laser with a dedicated power amplification stage. The seed laser must provide sufficient power to account for any optical losses before the amplifier.
At 25 °C, the amplifier reaches 950 mW with a drive current of up to 3 A and 100 mW (20 dBm) of optical signal power delivered to its input. Typical CW output power versus drive current at 25 °C with a 100 mW (20 dBm) input signal at 1260 nm reaches 1 W. ASE power from both fiber ports and the forward voltage, measured without an input signal, are shown for reference.
Innolume is based at Konrad-Adenauer-Allee 11, 44263 Dortmund, Germany.

Innolume has introduced the BOA1310070YY850MXXXX, an O-band booster optical amplifier delivering 850 mW CW ex-fiber at 1310 nm with a 70 nm 3-dB gain bandwidth in a 14-pin butterfly package.

Researchers at Tohoku University and NIMS have overcome a long-standing barrier to fast charge detection in high-resistance 2D-material quantum devices. By integrating a strontium titanate variable capacitor into a high-frequency resonant circuit, the team achieved near-perfect impedance matching, clearly resolving Coulomb oscillations from individual electrons and remaining stable under the perpendicular magnetic fields needed for spin-valley qubits.

Researchers have demonstrated the first magnetic-field-tunable spatial self-phase modulation in dispersions of two-dimensional flakes, actively enhancing or suppressing the third-order nonlinear optical coefficient on demand. Ferromagnetic VSe2 showed a 58 percent increase, while diamagnetic graphene reached a record 2.0×10-7 e.s.u. under a 600 mT field, surpassing a 15-year-old benchmark. Field-induced flake alignment drives the effect and adds laser polarization as an independent tuning knob.
